Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers and the Geauga County YMCA are proud to present a presentation on problem gambling at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the Geauga YMCA located at 12460 Bass Lake Rd., Chardon OH 44024.
Andrea McGovern, a member of the Lake County Suicide Prevention Coalition will share the story of her son Michael and his battle with problem gambling. Her story will highlight warning signs and the extreme consequences that can result from this disorder. Takisha Morgan, MPH, CHES, OCPS, Prevention Specialist and Kerri Luckner, LPCC-S, Outpatient Program Manager II at Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers will be on hand to answer questions about local efforts and resources available to residents in both Lake and Geauga County in fighting problem gambling.
“This is a very timely topic especially with March Madness approaching,” said Melanie Blasko, President and CEO of Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers. “It is very easy to get caught up in the excitement of college basketball and other sports which is why it is important to understand the warning signs of problem gambling.”
